What to expect
Use day one for Huaraz and arrangements for the coming days. Choose day two for Caraz and time in town. Keep day three available for one park visit that suits you, such as a programme around the Llanganuco lakes. Day four is for Chavín, considering the monument and museum separately. Leave day five free for a rescheduled visit, more town time or departure.
How it fits into a journey
Allow travel time to Huaraz in addition to these five visiting days, for example by bus from Lima. Use one base in Huaraz and arrange Caraz and Chavín as separate return outings. The park day is optional; do not automatically add Laguna 69 or Huayhuash.
